1lando is a rapid growing 17 year old independent Rap/Hip-Hop artist from Louisville, KY. He brings an energetic, enthusiastic, and Turnt Up sound to the table. When hearing his craft it’s defined as a wake-up call to the music industry.

How was life growing up?
Life growin up was simple and easy for a young age, jus being a kid. When I turned 13/14 years old is when I started hoppin on butt. I started smokin, drinkin, hittin stains, and hangin around tha wrong people. Next thing I kno Iām 14 years old being throw ina car and sent to live in West Palm Beach Florida for 3 months.
How did the rap name come to be?
Mannnn, I had so many rap names when I started gettin into this music shit. Ever since I was little kid playin football & basketball everybody started nicknamin me ālandoā so after dozens of terrible rap names I finally said ima jus use lando since thatās what everyone calls me. I added the “1” before “lando” because itās different jus like “2k” different for 2kbaby. Itās somethin new and it sounded good and it clicked.
When and how did you start making music?
I started makin music late 2018 on RapChat for fun off of motivation I got while livin in Florida. I quickly moved to SoundCloud shortly after to get my name out there more. I used GarageBand on my phone and Apple earbuds to record all my music at tha time.
How would you describe your music for someone who hasnāt heard you
before?
I describe my music as Electrifying, Energetic, Hard, Enthusiastic, Turnt Up, wit sum Attitude. My music will make you take a step back & say “damn es lil white boy tough”.
What artists inspired you the most and who do you currently listen to?
When I first started making music early on my Inspiration was Comethazine. I jus loved tha way he brought that Energy to every track, didnāt give a fuck what people had to say, and he had that attitude about him. He showed us listeners that he was tha shit and nobody could stop him.
I currently listen to 42 Dugg, Trippie Redd, Baby Smoove, NLE Choppa, 2kbaby, Lil Baby
All sorts of artist but also I listen to myself and my music more than anything. Iām always tryna improve my work/craft.
At what point did you start taking music more seriously?
I would say tha start of 2020, when I started seeing growth in Streams, Listeners and Followers. When I started droppin music videos wit tha G.O.A.T himself FlackoProductions. I told my self if Iām finna do this music shit ima do it 100%. I didnāt wanna wake up 2 years down tha road and regret not doing something because someone told me I shouldnāt do it. Ya feel me!
Have you ever been into any legal troubles?
When I got back from Florida late December of 2017, I started fuckin wit tha same people I was gettin in trouble wit months before. Itās 10-11pm at night on a Tuesday. Iām 15 years old handcuffed on my couch wit my momma cryin on her knees in front of me. While tha detective reads off all these charges he had on me. I had 4 counts of armed robbery and 1 count of tampering wit evidence. He told me I was finna go to tha YC that night. My momma begged on her knees for a 2nd chance. He told me he wouldnāt take me down there but he finna check in on me and that my charges were undismissable. He said 30 years down tha road if I slip up I got 25-30 years on my head.
After that is history š but weāll still get on ya ass boaaaā¦.
What kind of support do you get from your home town/state? (Include
state/city)
I feel like I get a lot of support from my city Louisville. Iāll always love and support Louisville 4L. I wouldnāt be where I am today without my city. I feel like you can only get so much love in ya own city, a lot of people stop fuckin wit you when they see your doin good for ya self. Some of ya closest friends will hate on what your doin, then when you start goin somewhere they want a piece of tha cake typeshit.
What really makes you stand out and different from other artists?
What makes me stand out is my energy, and how I come on tha track. I feel like Iām 1 of tha few artist from Louisville to hop on tha track and bring that energy, enthusiasm, and hunger. Also, being a youngin at 17 years old and doin the shit Iām doin wit tha music makes me stand out.
Whatās your biggest goal in the music industry?
I donāt have 1 big goal set, I feel that in this industry if you set yourself wit 1 goal that you are a step behind someone else whoās doin tha same shit you doin.
Iāll give yāall a few of my big goals. My first goal is to be signed by a major label or 2K ENT, I fuck wit what they doin ova there and how theyāre from Louisville too. My second goal would be to tour tha world and make my name something to be remembered.
If you could collaborate with one single artist who would it be and why?
From where Iām at as an artist right now, I would collab wit 2kbaby. Like I said he from Louisville like me and I feel like he would bring that energy to tha track and body every bar. I also feel like it would be a great way to get my name out there for other labels, managers, etc.
