We had a moment to chat with Jordan Rose. Founder of Rose Media based in Quitman GA. Get to know more about his story below and be sure to check out Jukebox Culture on Instagram.
Where are you from? I was originally born in Decatur, Georgia but I moved to Quitman, Georgia, at the tender age of 2.
What was life like growing up? Growing up as an only child in the ghettos of Quitman was quite different. Not having siblings, I was extremely anti-social. My mom was a single parent, working as an educator. So naturally, we didn’t have a lot. However, she was able to live frugally and make personal sacrifices to be able to make room for me to live a happy childhood to the best of her abilities.
What inspired you to start your business? I started my business because I realized I had somewhat of a gift for photography and media arts. There was never really any desire to form it into a career, it was always intended to be a side-hobby for a typical highschooler. It wasnt until I was into my 5th year operating the business that I realized the magnitude of the opportunity I was actually being presented.

Who is your biggest inspiration? My mother was and is my biggest inspiration. I was unfortunate enough to lose her last year, but the perseverance that she exhibited while she lived carries me until this day.
What has been the most difficult part of developing your business? The most difficult part in developing my business has been breaking my own mental barriers. Looking back, I realize what prevented me from moving from price range to price range, as I gained experience and became better at my craft, is that I didnt truly believe I was worth more. What stopped me from reaching out and working with bigger clients is that I did not truly believe I was good enough to do so. Overcoming that has done wonders for myself and Rose Media.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 5 years, I see myself generating passive income from Rose Media, having a professionally trained team to handle all small and medium budget work, while being able to spend the full amount of my time working with large artists on big productions.
If you could collaborate with a celebrity, who would it be? If I could choose to work with a celebrity it would be out of Polo G, Toosii, or Lil Baby.
What advice would you give to young artists that want to have a career in music? I would tell young artists to ALWAYS choose quality over quantity. This goes for songs, engineering, music videos, promotion EVERYTHING. Always pay for quality.

What do you believe artists need to focus on when it comes to their music videos? Having 2 quality visuals on your channel professionally filmed, with money aside for marketing is 10x better and more efficient, than shooting 20 $100 music videos and dropping them with no promotion at all.
What should they look for in a videographer? If you are looking for a music video director, don’t look for someone in the lowest price range there is. Look for someone that you can afford, yes, but not the difference between “affordability” and “cheap”. You can probably afford a $2,000 visual, but you believe you should rather shoot those 20 $100 videos. That is where artists mess up. Look for someone talented, and open minded. And make sure they COLOR THEIR FOOTAGE.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?
I would tell someone who is looking to start their own business to put money aside for marketing! You will get yourself stuck in the never ending spiral of waking up, and hoping someone who lives in your city supports you. Don’t worry about their support, worry about reaching a global audience of people who actually want to buy your product.
