DJ Nas Interview
Where are you from? I am from a small city with a big heart. Lenox,GA
What was life like growing up?Life was great growing up. My parents were the best and they’re the reason I go so hard today.
How did you get into the music scene and become a DJ? I’ve been playing piano and singing since diaper days and I figured why not take my musical skills and MY LOVE for music to the next level.

What was the first song, event or experience that really boosted your career? My biggest experience was DJing alongside DJ Tremayne. I had so much fun that night, he let me shine and even allowed me to use his DJ board. After that night my DJ career definitely boosted. It was legendary. Thanks OG!
How did you get your name DJ Nas? I got the name DJ NAS Wake Em Up from my mom. NAS is my favorite rapper and NAS are also my initials. Wake Em Up is what my mom would always tell me whenever I would get discouraged about being a woman in a male dominated industry. So I combined the two and created greatness. DJ NAS Wake Em Up!
Who is your biggest inspiration? My biggest inspiration would be my Uncle Roscoe aka Killer Diller. My uncle is an old school DJ. Growing up taking trips to his house, he would have so many records, cool equipment and pictures with people I’ve only seen on t.v. I knew as a kid I wanted to be just like him.
Most expensive jewelry piece?
My most expensive jewelry piece would be my BVLGARI BVLGARI Gold Necklace.

What has been the most difficult part of being a DJ?
The most difficult part about being a DJ is being female DJ but it’s also the best part.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I see myself DJing or tour rocking out with a favorite artist of mine.
If you could collab or open up for one major artist, who would it be and why?
If I could open up for any artist it would be Yo Gotti. I love his energy and all his music. Turn on some Yo Gotti and its up!
What advice would you give to someone looking to become a DJ?
My advice would be to just do it. Don’t think about it just take that leap of faith and watch how everything play out.
