“I’m from the west end of Louisville Ky.. I been rapping off and on since middle school but I played basketball growing up. You know I kinda done some of it all I went to college on a scholarship to hoop at a junior college I won a national champion ship in 2013 after one of my close homies passed on Christmas Eve on 2012 I had my first son after my freshman year so I stayed home you worked off and on hustled in the streets got into a lil bit of trouble here and there but I basically make music for people that listen to the story for people that listen to the message I look at myself as very versatile.. I’m different from most local artist if you ask me but to be honest we all different I feel like 502 is about to have an outbreak musically from all sections of the city and all genres so I’m trying to make sure I’m apart of that”
When and how did you start making music?
I originally started making music wit two of my best friends AcePro he’s in private garden with jack Harlow and Jeff Smiff who I’m about to Drop an EP with “Upside Dwn Wrld Vol. 1” we was almost signed to Ice Age.. that’s a situation I don’t wanna speak on.
How would you describe your music for someone who hasn’t heard you before?
The best way I can describe my music is real rap, it can be poetic to some… I make you think sometimes.. but most importantly I try to make my lyrics as visual as I can.
At what point did you start taking music more seriously?
I started taking music more serious after I gave my hoop dreams their last shot about a year and a half ago but music has always been something I loved to do. It’s always been natural to me.
What was your first song that really that did numbers?
When me and Ron D dropped again.. it turned peoples heads made peoples really pay attention to what I was saying.. what’s crazy is the song has more of a meaning to it than people think but that’s nothing I’m about to get into..
What artists inspired you the most and who do you currently listen to?
Growing up I was inspired by many artist.. lil Wayne just put a stamp on my brain like damn dude really puts bars together in a way that at one part of time was unexplainable.. but now I listen to Starlito a lot and one of my favorite artist from the city Wuntayk Timmy because he reminds me a lot like Wayne with his metaphors and punchlines and he puts words together crazy
Who’s your favorite Artist? Mainstream and underground
At the moment my favorite artist is Starlito.. just for the simple fact is he’s a realist he’s not riding waves he stayed true to who he is and he owns his own. He’s his own boss.. he helped people around him eat and coming from places like we do that’s the realest shit you can do is make it out and keep it real
How did you come up with your name?
I came up with my name recently just sitting around in the studio with my niggas and was like fuck it my names PayDay39 payday is random af but I put 39 on the end cause that’s what block I’m from and I’m gone forever rep it
What kind of support do you get from your hometown?
I mean I get a lot of support from family and my niggas that fuck with me on a personally level but I’m on a come up I’m starting to be heard more
How are you different from other artists?
I feel like I’m different from other artist because I speak non fiction in my music.. I don’t do a whole lot of what everybody else is doing.. I don’t follow trends or ride waves ima forever be me
What’s your biggest goal in the music industry?
My biggest goal is to be a legend in this shit I wanna be around for a long time I’m not trying to be one of those come and go artist but most importantly give my sons more than I did.. more outlets.. more opportunities
If you could collaborate with one single artist who would it be and why?
I would want to collab with Wuntayk because right I’m at a point where I feel like I’m getting better and doing a song with him I would have to come to tear some shit up and not spit no mediocre ass bars
