We’ve heard you’ve had a large NBA 2k fanbase, how did that get started?

Most of my fan base was on youtube. i been playing 2k for years. i was like 15 years old playing NBA 2K15 all day every single day and i was just sitting there thinking like if i’m playing this game all day i need to be making a money. that’s when i dropped my first video and i stay consistent with it and i became a known name in that community.

What made you decide you wanted to make a switch to music and why?

i switched to music because i’ve always wanted to do music since a kid i just always thought it was too hard to blow up so i never tried. i had no equipment, promotion, nor did i know how to even release my music. i didn’t see nba 2k videos making me a million dollars so i wanted to peruse music. music was also way more fun to do then youtube. youtube got boring and lame at a certain point. i guess you could say i outgrow it

How would you describe your music for someone who hasn’t heard you before?

my music is anything you want it to be. i got music for you to listen to when your in your feelings. music to listen to when your angry. music to teach you how to scam. all my music is real and authentic every single bar.

What artists inspired you the most and who do you currently listen to?

ybn nahmir got me to start rapping. i don’t know him personally but just to see how he went from gaming to rapping showed me that it’s not as hard as i think it is so that’s when i started rapping. my playlist full of Polo G, ShittyBoyz, Teejayx6, Kasher Quon, 10Kkev, LA Socket, and Jracoo.

Who is your biggest supporter?

all my fans are my supporters they all go hard for me. i can’t even pick out one person they all been sticking with me from the longest keeping me going. if you was to ask who supporters me personally? tbh nobody. i push myself everyday i don’t need anyone to tell me ā€œhey don’t give up cmon keep grindingā€ i push myself to be who i want to be. i create my own future.

Who’s your favorite Kentucky Artist?

YEN Kado, BigBan Messy, & RemoCapTooMuch

How did you come up with your name?

OBN stands for One Boss Nigga. what that means to me is i’m self made. i produce all my own beats. engineer all my music. make some of my own covers. record at home. i edited my first music video. i don’t pay for promotion. Dev comes from my real name Devon.

What kind of support do you get from your hometown being a Kentucky Artist?

Kentucky loves me. every time i go out in public i see a fan. the city loves me. there’s also a lot of envy from the other local rappers it’s just funny to me.

How are you different from other artists?

What makes me different from other artist is how everything i do comes from scratch 100% made by me from the beat, lyrics, & engineering. everything i say in my raps is authentic. i’m versatile i can do any flow. i can edit music videos make covers. i’m a gamer. i hoop. i do it all. i treat everyone the same nobody is above anyone in this world. i don’t even like to call my supporters ā€œfansā€ that’s my family.

What’s your biggest goal in the music industry?

i want plaques. i want to prove that you don’t need a label to make it in this industry they need us. you don’t need to pay for a hard ass beat to make a good ass song. you don’t need to go to the best studio. you can make it by doing everything independently.

If you could collaborate with one single artist who would it be and why?

Polo G because i connect with his music and can relate to it. he let’s his soul speak in every bar. what he raps i can say i been thru the same obstacles. i fuck with real rap. not the weird ass rappers we got lyin for the internet taking fake drugs and doing fake beef. polo g got real talent foreal.

What is your latest project?

i have yet to drop my first project but i’m dropping an album on my birthday this year October 16th. my album will have no skippable songs. remember that

Where inspired your latest single “Scam Bible”?

Teejayx6, Kasher Quon, 10kkev inspired it. i’ve been listening to them way before any of the scam rap got recognition. i’m not here to self snitch. but i been doing this since 2016. i just never spoke on it or rapped about they def created the wave i’m just adding to it and putting my own lil twist.

Have you had any close calls in your line of work?

i don’t know what you mean specifically but i’ve had some bad music industry problems involving fake contracts and stuff like that. i don’t really want to speak on it but i’m independent ive been independent and i will forever be a independent artist.

What has been your biggest “check” in a day?

depends what check your talking about. music or other sources of money. my biggest music check in a day was 20 thousand from the music i made over the month. the other sources of money i can’t even say on here how much i’ve made.

If a label wants to sign you how much do they need to bring?

they don’t need to bring anything cause i’m not signing lol. but say if i did i wouldn’t care about the money they need to come with me having the rights to my masters and creative freedom i will never let someone hold me back. i will do whatever it takes to succeed in music. getting in my way is dangerous.

Where can we find your music / socials?
