St. Louis-based hip-hop artist NandoSTL has taken his talents to new heights with the help of Grammy-winning singer, rapper, and producer T-Pain. Nando, whose real name is Fernando Tillman II, rose to prominence in 2018 but faced setbacks when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of music events and concerts. However, these challenges helped Nando see the importance of taking care of himself and led him to where he is today.

Nando has signed to T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Entertainment label, where he is set to release his debut album in May. The album will be preceded by the release of the lead single “Y.O.T.A.” featuring T-Pain and Florida rapper Young Cash. Nando and T-Pain connected through a competition on Twitch, where Nando placed second. The two artists have since stayed in touch, and T-Pain was impressed enough with Nando’s work to offer him a spot on his label.

Nando’s music is heavily influenced by rap and balanced by melody, with roots tracing back to his childhood days playing drums in church and in the Hazelwood Central High School Band, where he met local hip-hop artist Smino. With the support of T-Pain and his own unique sound, Nando is well on his way to achieving music stardom.
