Big Lotion, born Adam Brown, is a Cincinnati Ohio rapper with a “Giant alter ego Lotion Bottle,” which appears in his videos and pictures. He is best known for his single ‘Neck’ which reached 500k+ streams on Spotify before it was taken down due to the mass distribution discrepancy that faced thousands of artists across the globe. The very entertaining rapper faced harsh legal troubles in 2018 which he overcame. Big Lotion went from being targeted by a gunman and facing over 5 years in prison, from self-defense gun violence and beating most of the charges. Now, the artist plans to continue his career and release new music that entertains people of all ages. Big Lotion released the EP titled “Where Ya Bio Go” in the beginning of year 2021 which has already amassed over 300k streams.

Where are you from and how was life growing up? I’m from Cincinnati, OH

How did the rap name come to be? Growing up I would eat Lotion. I would steal my friends Lotion, beat up kids for their Lotion, eventually I coined the name Big Lotion from walking around with Lotion all the time.

Where does the inspiration come from for creating music? For the want to entertain. The ability to put smiles on people/fans faces makes it all worth it. Plus I’m very creative with my wordplay. You might think you’ve heard something or someone like me, but I separate myself with simple yet complex take on music. Everyone deserves to hear this.

What artists inspired you the most and who do you currently listen to?
-Big Lotion has been inspired by a plethora of artists from Bob Marley to Curtis Jackson. Big Lotion looks up to everyone who has done it before him. Big Lotion’s three greatest influences are Biggie Smalls, Lil Wayne, and Rich the Kid. Biggie Smalls because of his hustler mentality, Big Lotion has many posters of Biggie Smalls which influenced him during the days before he was making music and focused solely on money. Lil Wayne has influenced Big Lotion because of his desire for competition. Lil Wayne loves to compete and is very intellectual. Big Lotion tries to simulate his wittiness and since of competition. Rich the Kid has influenced Big Lotion because of Rich The Kid’s ability to hypnotize his audience with catchy, simple lyrics. Rich the Kid is a hard worker and isn’t the most complex lyricist but still has numerous records on billboard top 100.

What kind of support do you get from your home town/state? The support from Cincinnati is amazing. Everyone’s beginning to realize how possible it is for artists from our area to make it in the industry. We’re finally coming together. I’m excited for my next show there.

If you wasn’t rapping, what would you be doing right now? If I wasn’t kicking a ball for some professional sport team, I would be running a business or involved with politics.

What really makes you stand out and different from other artists? Big Lotion’s ability to not only rap, but ENTERTAIN. People/fans see Big Lotion and INSTANTLY want to interact, even if they do not know who he is. This separates him from the ‘typical’ artists who are standoffish and hard to engage with. Not to mention the bigger than life-size Lotion Bottle Costume!

Tell us your craziest life story: If i did i’d be held liable for some things, so can we leave it at that?

What’s your biggest goal in the music industry? to entertain. To continually put smiles on peoples faces. To show it can all be done with a good plan. to find a lotion bottle girlfriend and have many lotion bottle babies.

If you could collaborate with one single artist who would it be and why?Big Lotion can’t choose one. He’d have to decide between 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, Rich the Kid, Lil’ Wayne and Drake.

What advice would you give to aspiring rappers? Understand the Music business is, in fact, a business. There’s so much more to the business than beats, recording studios, engineers, albums, singles, etc. Build a team and account for everything, AFTER you’ve realized you have something to offer to the game.
