Where are you from and how was life growing up?
I’m from Toronto, Canada, specifically from the suburbs of Brampton, Ontario. I’ve had family and friends all over the Greater Toronto Area so I’ve built connections and relationships with all major cities surrounding Toronto. Reminiscing on growing up, I’ve learned that life has its share of blessings and curses. I’ve seen and experienced a lot of good and bad over the years, but at the end of the day, anything that doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

How did the stage name come to be?
My stage name, Ziyaad Luceō, is a combination of my actual first name “Ziyaad” and “Luceō” is a name I gave to myself once I decided to embark on the journey of being an artist.

Where does the inspiration come from for creating music?
Simply put, my immediate inspiration to create music is life and the stories that make a major impact on me along the way. Life gives us so many points of inspiration and revelations. Luckily, my job and mission are to share those stories with the masses.

What artists inspired you the most and who do you currently listen to?
I listen to almost everything. From R&B to Alternative Rock. Jazz to K-Pop. I don’t care, I just love music as a whole. But if I were going to pick artists that inspire me on a daily basis, I would have to say Michael Jackson and Kanye West. Some of the most gifted people the world has seen so far…

What kind of support do you get from your home town/state?
That’s an interesting question. I tend to just stay in my own lane and not focus on the noise but Toronto is a very loving and loyal city. Currently, the landscape of Toronto music is heavily influenced by Drake, The Weeknd and whatever artist 6ixBuzz is promoting at the moment, but Toronto is a very supportive community especially toward their artists. I feel the love whenever I release new content coming from not just my hometown but all across the globe. But nothing beats the real love that comes from your home.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing right now?
I wouldn’t be here on this planet. If I’m not making music, I’m not living. Music is Life. OE

What really makes you stand out and different from other artists?
Because I’m not trying to be anyone else but myself. I’m Ziyaad Luceō. Inspired by many but influenced by no one.

What’s your biggest goal in the music industry?
I’m going to show people across the world who I am and what I do best through love and positivity. I have a lot of great visions and goals I need to accomplish but I’m just focused on improvement and growth. I’ll always be better than I was yesterday.

If you could collaborate with one single artist who would it be and why?
Michael Jackson or Kanye West. I could never pass up an opportunity to work with musical geniuses. I would absorb all the lessons and tactics that they do so I can improve as an artist and human being. RIP MJ, gone but never forgotten.

Favorite Artists of all time and why?
Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Tyler, The Creator, Sade, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Kali Uchis, and lastly Ziyaad Luceō. 🖤They all inspire me to be a better me.

What advice would you give to inspiring artists?
Trust and love yourself. Be open to new ideas. Never give up. Strive for Greatness. OE 🖤
