See how he ended up stuck in Paris France and more.

We had a moment to chat with Clint Rhodes aka MoneyLonger, a music video creative based in Cincinnati. Check out the Full interview below and be sure to submit to Jukebox Culture and follow us on instagram.

What inspired you to start film making?

I’ve been a skateboarder all my life and when I was younger I first picked
up a camera to film my friends, back when we used Mini DV tapes instead of SD cards. Then years went by & all my friends and I were making music so I put some weed money I had that my grandma seen me with into a DSLR taking her advice to do something more positive with my life. Once I had the camera, none of the friends wanted to shoot videos for various reasons, so I took my other homies advice and started shooting everyone I knew in
Cincinnati & it grew & grew.

What was your first Camera/Lens?

Canon t5i with a 24mm pancake Canon lens

When did you get to go full time as a film maker?
late 2016

Coming up, what struggles did you face as a beginner?

Every single day there is a new struggle, but I am enjoying the ride. I’ve
been robbed, people have shot at each other inches away from me during some of my video shoots. I started editing on a computer that was so busted I had to have a giant square fan to keep it from overheating. There were
times I had nowhere to stay and I would edit videos in my 1999 Toyota
Corolla. There have been so many things that have happened I can’t even
begin to list them all. Every day is a new struggle but nothing good comes
easy right?

Which do you enjoy more, shooting or editing?

I love both equally.
Shooting – more physically demanding & more dangerous and stressful
Editing – relaxing

Whats your current favorite video you’ve shot/edited and why?

This video I shot in 2017 Breezoe Stuntin – Whole Lotta Gang Shit. I was
just getting started & I remember feeling free. I still watch that video to
brighten my mood every now and then. My most recent favorite is Eb&Flow – 2faces.

What do you do when you feel a creative-block?

I don’t trip about it and I go live life. Skate, listen to some random
music I usually don’t listen to. Read, Hang out with friends. just breathe
and it will come back. I could never lose it, it is in muhh blooddd

What was your first “big gig” and how did you land it?

I have yet to have a big gig. Every single one of them has been really
important. Still working toward the grand slam.

Who’s some of your favorite artists you’ve worked with in the music
industry?

Filming BIG KRIT performing live was really fun. Thanks to the guys at OSRS I was able to talk to BIG KRIT, his manager & whole team personally on the street in Louisville & that was really impactful & humbling.

Whats your favorite part about film making?

Creating pieces that will live forever.

Whats your current go to setup for commercial/industry clients?

These dang sony full-frame cameras & any gimbal.

We noticed you are currently in France, what brought you there and how hasthe experience been?

I met this guy Dim Lewko in Cincinnati around 4 years ago. That whole
situation was fried. My best friend at the time called me and said come
shoot this french guys video. It turns out my friend mistaken Dim Lewko for
someone else. Dim Lewko was randomly walking around Over The Rhine
exploring Cincinnati on his own. Dim and I have been great friends ever
since, and in September I came to Paris to shoot with him some more. & in
the process, I met some amazing people. I came back 2 times since to keep
building the friendships here and to expand what I do. Now I am half-way
stuck here due to coronavirus & have not shot much with anyone yet due to
everything being shut down. BUT the story will continue ..

Whats your top 5 most played songs in the last few months?

Three-Six Mafia – Ridin spinners

Dim Lewko – Blue on Blue

Eb&Flow – Dreamer

Dayo Gold – White House Black

Turich Benjy – Tesla

Biggest goals for 2020?

Acquire a bag that allows me to be free.
