Yung Martez was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, but raised in the streets of 5th Ward, Texas
Coming from a rough upbringing Martez channeled that energy to create music. Yung Martez originally started out in a group called MPS which made hits such as, “Dats My Lil’ Dip” & “No Man Needed.” Yung Martez has since begun working on his solo project “A Ghetto Genius,” and released his first single “When I Call, featuring Propain & Shun Ward” which has gotten spins on major stations in the Southern region, featured on MTV Jams, interviews with national media outlets “Hip Hop Weekly” and can be seen on World Star Hip Hop.

When did you start getting into music?
I started freestyling in high school when I was 16yrs old & I noticed everytime I would freestyle I noticed I would attract a crowd & dats wat made me start takin this music dream serious.
Who was your idols growing up and who currently inspires you?
Juvenile was a big idols for me growing up. Rick Ross inspires me business wise right now.
What was your biggest hit to date and explain the process?
My biggest song was “Never Forget”….I gave dat record all I had back in 2017
Being an artist, what type of struggles did you encounter starting off?
Balancing my personal life with my music life
If you could collab with one single artist who would it be and why?
It would be NBA youngboy kuz homie got the youth on lock right now.
Who has shown you the most support since you started your journey in music?
Legendary Dj Michael Watts

What is your process of creating a song?
My emotions kinda controls dat lol
