We had a moment to chat with Harrison Rossi owner of Dons Luxury Goods. What started off in reselling of sneakers shortly lead his next venture. Check out his full interview below and let us know what you think on our Instagram.

Where are you from? I’m from a small town in Upstate New York, right outside of the capital region!

What was life like growing up? Similar to a lot of other entrepreneurs, I grew up on the wrong side of money, spent most of our years in a trailer park, my father was a very hard working man, mostly working 7 days a week for us, so I had to grow up quickly. But I’m very thankful for the childhood I was given.

What got you into fashion? *

I think just the hip hop culture at the time, in my teens it was just the Nikes and Jordan’s they’d wear, Red Monkey and Evisu Jeans, just really had me interested from that point forward.

How did you get into your line of work?  I started reselling shoes on eBay about 14 years ago when I was 16 years old, I did it as a side hustle for about 10 years until I went full time with it 4 years ago, around that time I was introduced the the luxury goods resale market and began to ramp up those operations, I started selling on my personal IG and thereafter it kind of just blew up from there, my personal accounts became my business accounts!

Who kept you motivated during your journey? My fiancé and my dogs and the rest of my family, they definitely are the lights to my world and I want to provide them with the very best of everything in life.

Who is your biggest business inspiration?  I feel like The Real Real would be, they’ve grown to a giant but there’s still some tweaks that can be made to create a better customer experience in the luxury resale market.

What has been the most difficult part of growing in the industry? Definitely social media and they’re copyright rules and power. Although we have never sold a fake item, nor posted one, these big giants will flag you for anything you mention, even though it’s been authenticated and purchased second hand. We lost our first IG account of 23k to this. They’ll decapitate your social media presence and not blink an eye, or listen to the explanation to retrieve it.

What are some of your biggest accomplishments you are most proud of? Definitely delivering over $6,000,000 in products to our customers these past 4 years. We work with little to no overhead so doing this from our home is something I’m proud of.

What’s you goals for the next 5 years? Definitely growing into a comfortable location where we live and scaling our operations 3x what they currently are

What advice would you give to someone looking to step into your line of work? Put in the research, authentic goods take as much research and knowledge as technology and other studies, you have to keep a clean impeccable record, as well as make the financial sacrifices to your scale and grow. Your name and track record is everything! Be ready to give it your all!
