Where are you from and how was life growing up? Hartford and life was cool for the most part. I was a loner, but I had a lot of acquaintances that made it fun, but I was ready to leave and spread my wings

How did the rap name come to be? Well, my first name was kiddo sneak it was thing when jerking was a big thing everybody rapped and had a dumbs name. Then it was supa-man then I had found Mojo McFly (original I know) and rolled with that for a while. A few variations of hype (blvckhype, kidhype, blvck-kid), Lastly Marcqui Blvck came around college and it was a combo of my first name “Marcquille” and being pro black but wanted to be “different”, so I went with a V.

Where does the inspiration come from for creating music? I have been playing the piano since I was 4 yrs. old, and I guess that plus 106 and Park and Vh1 brought forth the love of producing and wanting to be a creative in that aspect.

What artists inspired you the most and who do you currently listen to? Kanye West is the #1 inspiration when it comes to making music, Andre 3000, Elton John, David Bowie, and The Notorious B.I.G all have skills and just disciplines I’ve studied

What kind of support do you get from your hometown/state? Since I moved to L.A, the love back home has increased tenfold, but growing up like I said I was loner, so a lot of people didn’t know I made music or didn’t listen. The older heads though, Loved the boy so it wasn’t like I went unappreciated just a lot of my generation were on other shit.

If you weren’t rapping, what would you be doing right now? Either something in culinary (I love to cook), Cinematography (I shoot 80% of my videos) or something in tech!

What really makes you stand out and different from other artists? I do EVERYTHING!!!! I make the beats, write the song/verses, comp vocals, mix, master, produce the final product. I have recently returned to doing my own artwork I had help previously for the last couple releases. I direct and edit most of my videos unless I work with another creative on some movie level stuff. I have studied music in schooling swell in leisure and I’d do anything to protect it.

Tell us your craziest life story: I got picked up off the street to be a model in the Yeezy season 3 show.

What’s your biggest goal in the music industry? To Inspire and hopefully Pioneer a return to artistry in its purest form. I love music and a lot of these new artist are killing it but on the other hand a lot of them are not. Sorry not sorry

If you could collaborate with one single artist, who would it be and why? J.Cole, His mind and his ear are unmatched so just being able to get him on a beat would be crazy.

What advice would you give to inspiring rappers? Don’t lose yourself and never compromise your vision unless it’s not helping you.
