Where are you from and how was life growing up?Ā I’m from Savannah, Georgia. I was actually born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and moved to Georgia at the age of 2. At a young age I learned to work very hard if I wanted nice things. That was both financially and mentally for me, and I knew that was the only way to win.Ā

We see you’re an aesthetician, what got you interested in the beauty industry?Ā I actually come from a family of beauticians on both sides of my family, so I would say I’m a natural. I’ve been doing my own hair since middle school and everything I learned was simply because I didn’t have any other option. This included hair, makeup, lashes and everything else beauty. I wanted to keep up with the popular girls but I couldn’t afford it, so I learned how to make it work.

With your business theĀ Boss Vault, what do you hope to achieve or help other women achieve?Ā I’m ready to achieve success in a way that makes other people feel successful also. I want to create successful opportunities for other people and feed families. With women, I want them to feel comfortable in their own skinĀ andĀ in beauty in general. Allowing them to enjoy taking care of the inside and outside of the body is important and I’d love to support as many women as possible in this area.

Do you believe qualifications are important, or have you built your business through experience?Ā I believe both are equally as important. I started my business while in college so I wasn’t able to get the correct qualification at the time. I was certified by an esthetician but that didn’t quite qualify me in the state of Georgia, so after graduation I went back to school and got my license. You can do one without the other, but you’ll never go as far as you will with both.

What are your plans for The Boss Vault in 2022 and beyond?Ā We taking over the 2000s! šŸ™‚ Honestly, I just plan to GROW. To be doing better than I am now this time next year is the most important part of the process for me. It’s all about progression. Now that we are licensed though, I’m ready to add new services and provide more for our clients so they have an experience worth coming back for and bringing their loved ones along too!

Do you have any new projects you’re working on in 2022?Ā Currently, I’m working on some music. I’m hoping to drop a single or two in 2022. But I’m mainly focused on completing my debut EP.

What words of advice would you have for otherĀ young women looking to start a business?Ā Don’t tell people what you’re doing and don’t quit. Do it broke. Do it ugly. Do it sad. Do it happy. Do it with purpose. Don’t wait. Don’t think too hard, just do it and get it over with. Take a risk. Try it out. Live limitlessly. Flow like water and trust the process. No one can take what’s for you.
