We had a moment to wrap up with Sire Montgomery. Check out his full interview below and be sure to follow Sire on Instagram.
Where are you from?
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Charlotte, NC. I like to say I have the best of both worlds! Shout out to the city!
What was life like growing up?
I’m a preacher’s kid but I had young parents, so it’s difficult to describe. If you know, you know! However, if I could go back, I’d live every single day the exact same because I loved every second.
How did you get into the music scene?
The music scene found me! Growing up in Charlotte, you’re either in the pews or in the pulpit. So, I chose to play the drums, piano, and sing in the choir.
What was the first song, event or experience that really boosted your career?
The first event that really let me know I have no limitations was the North Carolina A&T block party. Thousands of people screamed my name and that rush was a feeling I’ll never forget!
How did you get your stage name?
The irony is that my girl and I were laying down contemplating on finding a name that matched me! It probably took us all of 3 hours of ponder for it to finally click. I’m not sure if her or I said it first but when we heard it, we both knew it was the one!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mom is my biggest inspiration! I want to make sure she knows that anything is possible.

Most expensive jewelry piece?
My most expensive jewelry actually was gifted to me from my older brother when I started my first business. He gave me a VVS diamond chain that I still wear today! To me, it’s priceless.
What has been the most difficult part of being an artist?Â
Practice for my shows are probably the most difficult. As you move towards success, you want other people to work just as hard as you when it comes to putting on a great show! If you are in production with me, expect to be pushed to your greatest potential.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Today, I’d like to see myself successful and achieving everything I have set my mind too. As time goes on, that gauge changes and I will continue to reach new heights while I stay hungry with everything I do.
If you could collaborate or open up for one major artist, who would it be and why?
Drake would be the one. This would be the most important time for me to learn from the best both domestically and internationally.
What advice would you give to someone looking to become an artist?
Be you, hone your own sound, invest in your craft, be consistent and help the next person whenever you can.
